Hi everyone, we have been working a bit to update/re-organize nc140.org and
would like to point out a few things:

1.) Check out the Rootstock Trials link, http://www.nc140.org/plantings.html.
In particular, visit the 2002 Apple (Gala) Rootstock Trial Page,
http://www.nc140.org/plantings/2002applerootstock.html. That is a template
we are trying to implement for all the Plantings, and where we think the
majority of our vetted for public project results should be found. If YOUR
NAME is next to one of those rootstock trials, please look at it and fill
in the blanks per the attached TEMPLATE. Concentrate on the most recent
plantings, and work backwards. Note that we don't have/know who is
currently coordinating the 2004 and 2005 Pear Rootstock Trials (at least I
don't know)? Stefano, you could have got much of the Planting information
you were looking for last week by e-mail on these pages (Assuming it is
correct, please check if you are a trial coordinator!).

2.) The NC-140 Members link, remember the login: nc140member, nc140. You
will get an annoying welcome message which I am going to remove. Note the
list is basically Years, misc, and Rootstock Plantings. Should be pretty
self-explanatory, but: in the Year folder there is a state report folder,
to upload your state report; PLEASE follow this file naming
convention: MA-2015-NC140statereport.pdf.
No spaces! State/province abbreviation first so they are easy to find, look
at 2015 for example. PDF's preferred, but Word docs OK, just make sure it
has the .doc or .docx file extension. Note Essie, I already FIXED yours!
:-) Anything else specific to that year, should probably go into the Year
folder loose, with an appropriately descriptive file name. BUT, if there is
a protocol, documentation, results, reports, etc. specifically related to a
rootstock planting, those should go in the Rootstock Plantings folder (go
back to Home) and in the appropriate planting folder. And note there is
some organization in those too, with Folders for Manuscripts, Misc,
Protocols, and Reports. Hopefully this strategy can keep things a bit
better organized than they have been in the past. Let us know if you have
any better ideas or suggestions.

3.) Contact information, http://www.nc140.org/cooperators.html. Please
someone (Rich?) supply me with current Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary
information. The Member Database is still active, I would be happy for you
all to check that and update your information, including people who are not
on the project. Because this caused some consternation last year, for now I
have just linked to the Participant List on NIMSS. Note if you are not on
that list, you are probably not an official member of the Project and you
need to get that worked out with your University.

We hope some of these improvements to the organization of the NC-140
website helps us in our work and at our meeting next week. By all means,
let us know if any comments or suggestions. Thanks.

Win and Jon
