Really appreciate the concern about my fall. I fell down our stairs to,the second floor Friday night hitting my head on the wall at the bottom of the stair case and the tile floor. Suffice to say both are cracked. I was life flighted to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.   Have a subdurral hematomma injury with brain concussion. No surgery, my head was too hard.
Going back to Hershey on Monday for follow up CAT scan. Was scheduled to go to Ukraine for meetings and presentations. Was told I could not fly for a while.

If you are interested in going, this is a good country to visit. Have been there 3 other times with this group.  This is a top notch organization and would encourage any one that is interested to apply.  Lina Dotsenko is the person in charge and is fluent in English having received a graduate degree from PSU. Industry is very diversified.  Will see modern planting systems comparable with the best in the world; while also, seeing very basic production practices. You will have a driver and interpreter with you at all times.

I have an urgent question. We were expecting to host Robert Crassweller from the Penn State University to do “Apple pre-harvest and post-harvest handling” assignment. He was supposed to do 50 min presentations on two big conferences, one in Nemiroff on Aug 4 and one in Western Ukraine on August 10. The presentations had to cover modern approaches to harvesting apples, their post harvest treatment, including some storage practices (use of Smart Fresh technology).

Unfortunately, today we received an urgent message that Rob had a brain injury and got to the Hershey Medical Center.

I know that Michigan State University is known for apple too, so I would like to ask you to send out this message to your colleagues in the Extension who are involved in apple production and would be willing to come to Ukraine and do the presentation on the topic above. Or maybe you could recommend someone?
