Dear RIMpro user,
Today we added a model for Sooty Blotch to the RIMpro platform.
In the info bulletin attached to this mail you can read how this model is to be used.
For who is interested, the bulletin also includes backgrounds to the disease, management, and details on the model development.
The development of Sooty Blotch is bound to high humidity. More than other disease, correct simulation of infection moments and disease progress is only possible with weather data that are truly representative of the within-tree microclimate in the orchard. For weather stations placed outside orchards this in not the case. RH sensors should be calibrated, and leaf-wetnesssensors should be well positioned in the tree canopy.
We hope this new model helps you in the effective management Sooty Blotch in your orchards.
We always appreciate feedback that helps us to improve our models !
With kind regards,
Marc
