Hi Marc,
For those with questions about RIMpro, please refer to the website in Marc’s email below. Using RIMpro is beyond the reach of my current time commitments for 2017, though I am happy to help support its use with NEWA data.
Yes, we are considering your request, but it wasn’t possible to implement it for this season. NEWA operations are using what we already had in place to support RIMpro data feeds. The current quick fix is what it is at this point in time with the growing season nigh upon us when your request came in.
Take care,
Julie

Hi Julie,
No mysteries at all if you look at our website:
http://www.rimpro.eu/faces/register_1.xhtml
If any of this is unclear to you, please ask.
I asked you before if it would be possible to provide the NEWA weather-data over a REST service on your database in stead of a ’hard’ ftp file.
The service would take client username, stationid and start date as input, and return a file with the weather data from the start date till the most recent record. This is s how most weatherdata providers and forecast services nowadays work. And for a programmer little work to build.
Handling data per user and station over ftp is rather labor-intensive and inflexible both for you and us, and a lot of unnecessary data is send over all the time.
You did not yet answer to this suggestion, could you consider developing your service in this direction ?
With kind regards,
Marc

Greetings,
How RIMpro licensing and user groups work is a mystery to me and shall remain so. Any questions about it should be addressed with the RIMpro company or Jon Clements.
This mailing list is managed by Jon Clements at U Mass.
For each NEWA station and user combination there is a $50 fee and a form to fill out. We now have set up the data urls so they access year-specific data and can be used in historic mode. Data runs 1 Jan to 31 Dec.
Srdan is managing the NEWA sign ups in his Eastern NY group. Others can contact Jon Clements, me, or Dan Olmstead dlo6 at cornell.edu<mailto:dlo6 at cornell.edu> for NEWA data sign up.
Take care,
Julie

Hi, Jim —
I’m not certain which stations you wish to use, but I wanted you to know that we have three stations in the Champlain that will be part of our eastern NY users group (Forrence, Northern, Chazy). If you opt to join our user group, then you will be able to access those stations without having to pay anything more than 150 Euros to RIMpro to become a “friend of the user group.” If you want to add NEWA stations elsewhere, you will need to subscribe with both NEWA and RIMpro for those additional stations, but you will still be able to access the Champlain Valley stations at no additional charge if you join our eastern NY use group. As I assume you know, you will need to pay NEWA $50/station to get a file name that will provide RIMpro compatible data.
For reasons that I don’t understand, Srdjan Acimovic and Peter Jentsch, who have organized the eastern NY program, seem a bit reluctant to include consultants in the network directly. They (or perhaps Julie Carroll in NEWA) seem to want consultants to subscribe to RIMpro via the name of the grower on whose farm the NEWA station is located. I don’t think the folks at RIMpro care either way, but I’m just alerting you to that situation. Therefore, if you are interested in joining the user group, I suggest that you contact Srdjan with a request for info on how you can help two of your western NY growers join our user group or on how you can join as a friend of the user group if the stations of interest are only those in the Champlain Valley.

I can not find my records of my account name and password for 2016. I would like to subscribe to RIMPro again this year. I am a consultant and would like to use two weather stations. Would appreciate your assistance.
